amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, to end the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research

amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and advocacy. Since 1985, for nearly four decades, the organization has RAISED and invested more than $635 million in different AIDS and HIV programs, awarded more than 3,800 grants accelerating the pace of AIDS research, and contributed to numerous breakthroughs that are extending and saving lives around the world.

Led by CEO Kevin Frost, a major feature of amfAR’s fund-raising is working with artists to auction their works, raising funds for research. amfAR raised over $17 million for the foundation’s HIV/AIDS research programs at the amfAR Gala Cannes, which took place at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in April 2023, and over $2 million was raised at the amfAR Gala Venezia in September 2023, during the Venice Film Festival. President Obama appointed Mr. Frost to the Presidential Advisory Committee on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) in February 2010. PACHA's role is to advise the administration on domestic and international HIV/AIDS prevention and research programs for the U.S. government.

amfAR’s Asia base is in Bangkok and directs a program integrating HIV, co-infection, and co-morbidity research among children, adolescents, and adults, with related activities around community advocacy and training.

As an artist, Dr. Deyn, PULSE Founder, has begun a collaboration with amfAR to contribute art pieces for future auctions at gala dinners held in Cannes and Venice.
