At Odds and Ends Gallery June 16th to 22nd
with an opening reception June 16th, 6 to 9 p.m.
The international law firm Clifford Chance has selected Dr. Deyn as part of their annual Hong Kong Arcus Pride Art exhibition. The Arcus exhibition has become one of the largest corporate-supported exhibitions of artworks by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+), and supporter artists in Hong Kong. The Arcus exhibition is a global initiative and celebration, with events and exhibitions occurring across the Firm's global network each year.
This year's events will be the 17th for Clifford Chance since the first exhibition in New York in 2007. The theme for this year's exhibition is United in Pride. Clifford Chance collaborated with Odds and Ends Gallery together with LOVE, an LGBTQ+ focus artist collective to showcase eight emerging LGBTQ+ artists.
Dr. Natthakhet Yaemim, M.D., called Dr. Deyn, is the founder and CEO of PULSE Social Enterprise, a pan-Asian network of lifestyle clinics and services. PULSE’s mission is to promote and provide excellence in standards of care and education in lifestyles medicine, HIV and co-infections, normalizing sexual wellbeing and to actively engage in the formulation of public health policy, with the aim of eradicating the HIV burden in across the region.
He was part of two previous group exhibitions, “Sex and Spirituality” in Vienna (May 2022) and “KinkyBKK” in Bangkok (September 2022).
His first solo exhibition launched during Bangkok Galleries Night sponsored by La Fete (Alliance Franciase) and French Embassy (November 2022). As an artist, besides recognition for his work in acrylic on paper and canvas, Dr. Deyn is known for his art curation of art exhibitions at PULSE Galleries.
Odds and Ends is a contemporary art gallery in Hong Kong. Established in 2022 by Fiona Ho and Natalie Ng, Odds and Ends showcases local and international emerging artists, with a focus on Asian diasporic artists. The mission of the gallery is to nurture talents through a rigorous exhibition program and promote cross-disciplinary collaborations.
LOVE was established by Kalan Wing Ki Lee, Assistant Dean (Research) at the School of Creative Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University, to encourage and showcase new and emerging Hong Kong-based LQBTQ+ artists.
Three pieces from Dr. Deyn were selected for the exhibition.
“Be Free”, “Together & Harmony” and “Happiness is a Butterfly”. All are acrylic on Swiss or French newspapers.
Following the Clifford Chance Arcus Pride Art Exhibition 2023 launch at the 27th floor of Jardine House, the Clifford Chance chambers, on June 8th, the exhibition relocates to Odds and Ends Gallery June 16th to 22nd, with an opening reception June 16th, 6 to 9 p.m.
