About The Artist:

Fashion aesthetics could be another poetry to tell untold stories.
After working as a fashion and advertising photographer since he won the competition of Harper’s bazaar in 2007, and he was a fashion editor of L’Officiel Thailand, Surachai Saengsuwan has brought this background to the art world using this esthetic to present the stories of minorities and equality. He also works for charities with many organizations such as down syndrome children, stray dogs, LGBTQI+, etc., and uses fashion photos as communication to raise awareness in those communities.

Name: Dok

Edition: 1/5

Description: ‘Dok,’ in my opinion, has two meanings; one refers to ‘flower’ and one refers to a slang used in the LGBTQ+ community. Dok (flower) represents the diverse characteristics of humans; we pick a flower as our favorite by connecting our personality to it, and so do the drag queens who creatively make their own costumes to express their own styles.

Since apparels have become one of our self-identifying and experience-reflecting tools, not just a body-covering cloth, I have been passionate and inspired to shoot in this kind of concept. You will see the relation between the two meanings of Dok — the flower and the LGBTQ+ community — in order to represent the various dimensions of beauty and self-expression through different ways of dress.

Name: Flower Pollination

Edition: 1/5

Description: Every human being has beauty and different values like each flower that always looks different. Flowers will bloom when they are in the right place, and get the right amount of sunlight. Like people in a place where value is seen and received the right love, They bloomed. The value of love of flowers may not be in the nature of the flowers that are the same or different. But it depends on whether each flower could feel other flowers' feelings or not.
