About The Artist : 

As a Thai-Swedish artist, I have been very lucky to have spent a lot of time in both Thailand and Sweden. The two cultures are so different and having to navigate my identity in both places has been a huge struggle, because I don’t feel that I am Thai or Swedish enough. But having recognized that as a queer and non-binary person I have
been privileged enough to find a community that gives me a sense of belonging and acceptance of my uniqueness. Which helped me understand that my identity is not a burden but the greatest gift that I could ever ask for.
With that being said I use art to explore identities and what it means to be queer, non-binary, and biracial. Having had a lot of issues accepting myself, I really believe in the term “the personal is political” and through art, I am able to express my personality. The biggest hope for me is that my art will make people feel seen, understood and less alone.

 

Name: My Body is Sacred

Description: Everything that I paint is a reflection of the reality that we all share, a balance of the good and the bad. Just like sex, it can be used as something negative, a way to hurt and/or assert power over someone. As a survivor of sexual assault. I have been broken to pieces. But you live and you grow. Learning that my body is sacred and that we all deserve to use sex as a tool of love and connection. I am now slowly piecing myself back together and moving forward on the journey of healing.

Description: A piece where the subject matter is something very Thai but expressed in a very westernized manner. Using classic Thai/Hindu/Buddhist imagery of Thotsakan and lotus flowers.

Description: As someone with a female body, I have experienced a lot of discomfort in my past relationships, and sexual encounters with men, women and everyone in between. Oftentimes I felt as if people took my body for granted and disregard me as a person with emotions.
