The painting Opals aims to show the simultaneous adoration and disrespect that human beings show for beauty. We celebrate beauty but we also want to own it, spraying it with our own selves, getting off on our ability to add a part of our bodies to this immaculate person or thing. I wanted to show cum as a complicated fluid; precious, dirty, powerful, intimate and also distant.
