Preparing For Your Telemedicine Appointment

To make the most of your doctor’s appointment, a bit of preparation can save time or prevent unnecessary return visits. Consider what you want to achieve during your consultation. Are you seeking advice on new symptoms or a new prescription? Here are some helpful tips:

  • Make notes about specific symptoms you’re experiencing. Record when they occurred, how long they lasted, and what you were doing before they started.
  • Create a list of questions, prioritizing the most important ones.
  • Review your medical history and any illnesses in your family. If you’re unsure about any information, don’t hesitate to ask other family members.
  • Write down all the medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal remedies.
  • Bring copies or reports from any recent tests.
  • Allow ample time for travel to the clinic to avoid missing your appointment.
  • Ensure you have your Medicare card and any other relevant health insurance or Veterans’ Affairs card.
  • Don’t forget to bring your health insurance details.
  • You’re welcome to bring a support person to accompany you.

Talking to your doctor

The most important thing when speaking with your doctor is to be honest and upfront. To make the best assessment of your needs, your GP will need to have a full understanding of your medical history, all medication you are taking and lifestyle habits such as smoking, illicit drug use, diet and physical activity.

If your doctor recommends a course of treatment you are not comfortable with, ask about the alternatives and ask your doctor to explain the pros and cons of each so you can make an informed decision.

Make sure you are clear about your doctor’s instructions before you leave. If you are in doubt about what they mean, ask for more information. Take a notebook if you want to take notes or bring a support person with you to help you remember the information. Ask for printed information to take home with you if necessary.

Paying to see a doctor

GP visits at PULSE CLINICS are covered either partly or fully by insurance. You can pay with cash, credit card, money transfer.

People with insurance that covers their service received from PULSE CLINICS can pay with cash, we will issue medical certificate from clinic visit and your receipt to be reimbursed from your insurance. Most people are reimbursed 80-100% of what they paid at the clinic.

After your doctor’s appointment

We are one-stop-service. If your doctor has prescribed medication, you will be able to get your medication right at the clinic's dispensary.
Your doctor may make a follow up appointment at a different time frame such as 7 days, 14 days, 3 months or 6 months, depends on your conditions and need.

Once you start taking the medication, if you have problems with your treatment:

  • Don’t change the treatment without speaking to your doctor.
  • Tell your doctor about any unwanted side effects.
  • Work with your doctor to find a treatment that works better for you.

WE'RE HERE TO HELP

What happens during the online video consultation?

Just like in a physical consultation, the online doctor will discuss your symptoms. As it's a video consultation, they can also take a look at any affected areas, or listen out for symptoms. Where medication is needed for you to get better, the GP can issue a prescription.

How do I book my appointment?

Once you have signed up for an account, you can book online appointments in our app or on the website. Once it’s time for your consultation, you’ll enter our online waiting room, and the doctor will see you as soon as possible.

How do I get a prescription?

Once you have consulted with a clinician over video they will advise if you need medication. They will then generate a prescription and send this to your local pharmacy for you to collect.

Who are the doctors?

All of our UK GPs are trained in the NHS and registered with the General Medical Council (GMC), the organisation responsible for overseeing medical practitioners in the UK. They’re experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, and can help with almost everything your regular GP could in a physical surgery.

What if I need to see a doctor in person?

The online video consultation service through Push Doctor is in addition to the services you’re already offered at your surgery. This means that you'll still be able to see your regular doctor in person. To do this, you just book in as normal.
