Findings from the START study have shown that early, if not immediate, treatment increases health and life expectancy, and prevents serious illnesses including cancer, renal, and liver disease by more than 50% compared to those who delay starting treatment. According to national guidelines for HIV treatment and prevention, follow-up will be done every 6 months, we'll check your HIV viral load, CD4 count, fasting lipid profile, basic chemistry (liver function, kidney function, complete blood count), and urinalysis.

Normally complete lab tests cost 7,700THB, medication prices vary, we can prescribe 6-12 bottles for stable patients, and you can get medications AT the clinic on the same visit)

6. Receive blood test results by email, make sure you provide the correct email to us and your inbox is NOT full.

7. Take medication daily and on time.

8. Come back for follow-up and refill medication as appointed by our staff.

Rapid HIV Blood Test at PULSE

PULSE Clinic offers 2 options for rapid HIV blood tests;

Option 1: HIV Combo The Rapid HIV test at PULSE clinic is a combination antigen & antibody 4th generation finger prick blood test. The test is simple and quick, giving accurate results in only 20 minutes. Our rapid combo test detects more acute HIV infections than that of previous 2nd & 3rd generation tests available. This new rapid blood test identifies HIV-positive patients earlier within a smaller window period, helping to prevent further transmission during this extremely infectious early stage. This HIV test can be taken 2 weeks after exposure to the HIV and is taken in a completely confidential and discrete environment at all our branches throughout Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, and Malaysia.

Option 2: 3rd generation Rapid HIV Test This Rapid HIV test at PULSE clinic is an HIV antibody test (also called third generation test). An HIV antibody test looks for these antibodies in your blood, oral fluid, or urine. If these antibodies are found, it means that your body is reacting to an HIV infection and that you have HIV. 3rd generation antibody tests have a window period of approximately three to four weeks.

Prevent Other Complications with HPV Vaccine

People with weakened immune systems (including individuals with HIV/AIDS) may be less able to fight off HPV and more likely to develop health problems from it.

HPV vaccine should be taken as soon as possible. In October 2016 ACIP recommended HPV vaccine dosage according to age starting the first dose.

• Age less than 15 years old: 2-dose regimen (day 1 and month 6)
• Age above 15 years old: 3-dose regimen (day 1, months 1-2, month 6)
• Immunocompromised people such as HIV-infected patients: 3-dose regimen (day 1, month 1-2, month 6) regardless of age.
